The comedy duo Flight of The Conchords have released their second comedy album titled, I Told You I Was Freaky. The New Zealand bred duo consists of Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, and have gained susbatntial popularity recently due to their own self-titled TV series on HBO, which recently wrapped up its second season. All of the songs on the album are taken from the TV show, highlighting the funny and awkward situations they find themselves in.

The album leads off with "Hurt Feelings", a hip-hop styled tune with Bret and Jemaine rhyming about getting your feelings hurt from a girlfriend who just dumped you. "Sugalumps" is an hilarious and electronic styled ditty where the duo bust some rhymes at a frenetic pace. "We're Both In Love With A Sexy Lady" is an R&B styled parody where Bret and Jemaine discuss whether the woman's name who they just met is named Barbara or Brabra. "Demon Woman" is a catchy and hilarious novelty tune that will have you singing the chorus repetively afterwards. "Rambling Through the Avenues of Time" is an acoustic tune that will get a fair share of laughs upon first listen with Jemaine's random comments heard sporadically throughout.

Moving along, the album gets more random and hilarious with "Petrov, Yelyena, and Me", a Russian styled folk song parody that is so far out of left field, you wonder and shake your head at how they come up with something so unique and random at the same time. "You Don't Have to Be A Prostitute" is a reggae styled parody about deciding whether to choose a profession that is considered so morally reprehenisble, but pays good money anyways when you don't have a job and are desperate for money. "Friends" is a hilarious and simple ditty about what friends do for each other. Bret and Jemaine have a unique talent for finding subtle humor in everyday situations that others may have not picked up on, and that's what makes them so hilarious and one of a kind.

My favorite track off the album is "Carol Brown", an acoustic based affair where Bret and Jemaine croon about a girl that took a bus and skipped town. With it's 'do do do' chorus and simple humor, this track will have you laughing and humming along at the same time.

Altogether, a well put together effort from an extremely talented comedy group. Bret and Jemaine first started getting recognized by audiences with their own special on Comedy Central, and from there they got their own TV show on HBO. Not bad for New Zealand's "4th Most Popular Folk Parody Duo", and a true testament to their talent. Let's hope they continue to find inspiration from the simpler things in life that we might not notice.
